A Met and 5 things he’s learned from working in TV/Media

1) Working in the TV/media industry can be tough. It can be very challenging going on TV everyday presenting weather or any other information. You have to make sure you are always on your A game.

2) Working in TV/Media industry is not promised. You can be the best person for the job as still not get it. Or you can be the best person on the job and still lose it. It is an extremely competitive industry but persistence can help you make it into this industry.

3) Make sure more than anything you are doing your job, and doing it well. In the end, if you can look back say I really did a good job, or I killed that forecast 🙂 or I gave the team and viewers the most accurate information, that’s when you know you have done your job and done it well.

4) As someone once told me, “don’t sweat the small stuff.” You may not like every decision or understand every decision that is made. Don’t let it upset you or throw you off your game. Just make sure you stay focused and work hard and smart.

5) Last, but certainly not the least, take time to step away from work. In era where we are always connected, especially in this industry, I personally think it is extremely important to take vacations, take time to enjoy life. Life can pass really quick if you don’t take time to enjoy it.
